Martha Biggs,
Children’s Associate

Martha grew up in Norfolk, Virginia.  Her father was in the U.S. Navy and their family lived in Morocco for three years.  As a teenager she knew that she would someday like to teach children.  In 1968 she graduated from Radford University with a BS degree in Elementary Education.  She taught first grade in Virginia Beach, Virginia and in Millington, Tennessee. She has said that she now has the best job of all…teaching little children about Jesus! In 1969 she met and married Van Biggs who was from Millington. She and Van have been teaching at F.B.C. for over 30 years.

During a revival service in 1974 she realized that even though she had attended church all of her life she was not saved. That night she accepted Christ as Lord and Savior of her life. They have two children, Lodie and Christine, whose families both attend FBC Lodie and his wife, Stephanie, have two daughters, Mollie and Kadie. Christine and her husband Tim Michael have two daughters, Elliott and Corbin. Now I can teach my own grandchildren about Jesus!
