Sharon Hambick, Director
 
Sharon Hambick is responsible for a wide variety of Preschool Ministries at First Baptist. These responsibilities include Preschool Sunday School, classes for Preschoolers on Sunday, and Wednesday Evenings. Jr. Children’s Church and Preschool Vacation Bible School are also under her supervision.

Sharon and her husband, Chris, have been married since 1992. They are blessed with two beautiful children. Her hobbies include spending time with her family and reading. Her life verses are Proverbs 3:5-6.

In the fall of 2000, she felt God calling her to the Preschool Ministry of First Baptist Church. Her prayer is that the ministry here will lay a strong spiritual foundation in our Preschoolers’ hearts and lives. It is also her prayer that parents of young children will find support in raising their children to love Jesus and someday trust Him as their personal Lord and Savior.

Deea Lester, Mothers Day Out Director

Deea Lester has been involved in the Preschool Ministry since 1993. She taught 4 year old ‘s in Sunday for 7 years until God called her to be a part of the Preschool Staff in 2000. In 2003 she played a vital part in beginning a Mother’s Day Out. She continues to lead this growing ministry.

Deea and her husband Jimmy have been married since 1987. They have been blessed with two beautiful girls.

Deea and her staff are committed to excellence in every area. They are dedicated to sharing biblical principles and academic lessons with the children in the program. Her favorite bible passage is “For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. Romans 15:4”

Karen Hall, Volunteer Coordinator

Karen Hall is the Volunteer Coordinator for the Preschool Department. Her job is to coordinate volunteers that rotate monthly during both worship hours and on Sunday nights.  She has been a member of First Baptist Church since she was a young child, and has been involved in many areas of the church. In, 1997 she felt called to the Preschool Ministry. She has been a teacher in several different ages and is knowledgeable in many areas of this ministry.

Karen has been married to Derrick since 1994.  The Lord has blessed their family with three children, two girls and a boy.  One of her favorite verses is “Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things are passed away, behold all things become new.”
