Billy Skinner,
55+ Minister

The vast majority of my growing up years were spent in Frayser - graduating from Frayser High School and faithfully attending Ardmore Baptist Church. After graduating from The University of Memphis with a degree in Production Management and Labor Law, God blessed me with a challenging and rewarding position at Firestone Tire and Rubber Company. Sensing God’s call to full-time Christian Ministry, I resigned after eleven years and enrolled at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.

We have had the precious opportunity to serve churches in Missouri, Mississippi, Tennessee and also minister to over one hundred and forty churches and missions with Mid-South Baptist Association as Church Strategist. From the Association, we were called to Gateway Baptist Church where I pastored and my wife, Elisa, plays the piano. In 2008, I announced my retirement and have been, since retirement, preaching, teaching and consulting in various churches.
 
We have two children. Tammy McBride, who lives in Memphis and is a homemaker.  David is a pastor in Philadelphia, Pa. We also have three grandchildren.
