Sunday School

 
• Bible Teaching - the Bible is the main curriculum at First Baptist Church. Sunday School involves the study and practical application of God's Word. Small group discussion is encouraged in each class.
• Prayer - Each class has the privilege of praying for its members and guests. Answers to prayer encourage the class to seek God and His direction on a daily basis.
• Fellowship - In our high-tech world today, Sunday School allows each individual to have the personal touch of God's forever family. The common ground of each believer is the fellowship we have in Christ.
• Ministry/Leadership Development - Within each Sunday School class, ministry opportunities are available. Classes serve their members and guests when sickness, death or other needs arise. With ministry opportunities comes the opportunities for leadership development. Leaders are needed to help organize and lead ministries within the Sunday School.
• Outreach - At First Baptist Church, we have one ministry organized to reach the un-churched. It is the GROW Ministry. Within GROW, we teach a Sunday School evangelism strategy that not only reaches an individual for Christ, but also helps unite them with the church through a Sunday School class. This ministry makes visits only. GROW is also a ministry that helps reach and minister to the Sunday School class. Members can serve through visitation, letter or card writing, and telephoning.
• Assimilation - Often the greatest obstacle for a new or old member of a church is to feel "a part of" the church. Sunday School provides an opportunity for the church member to move from just an attendee to an active part of the body of Christ.
