Recreation Staff

John Proctor,
Minister of Recreation

John Proctor's heart for reaching people for the Lord through recreation and sports first emerged when he was a teenager. After surrendering his life to Jesus at youth camp during his senior year, he began volunteering and working part time then full time in the recreation ministries of Bartlett Baptist and then Faith Baptist Church.

John grew up in Bartlett and attended the University of Memphis where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Education. John has served at First Baptist Church for over five years and during this time has introduced the Upward basketball and micro soccer programs, improved the format of the youth baseball league, and has begun offering fitness classes for both seniors and ladies. John says that he wants to make sure that every recreation offering has the specific purpose of reaching people for Christ.

John is married to Bridget, and they have three sons, Jackson, Colton, and Brantley. John enjoys playing sports and working outdoors. He also loves to spend time with his family.
